L’uomo avverte quale sia la sua vera Natura in un sistema umano ed ambientale in continua evoluzione? La Natura dell'uomo lo indirizza verso scelte di precisi luoghi  urbani in cui stare? E se la natura è anche indole e si caratterizza come interiorità, come intima predisposizione alla vita, l’arte e l’architettura possono esserne espressione e in esse la collettività può ritrovare punti stabili ed equilibri che avvicinano interiorità ed esteriorità,  attraverso un potenziale visibile ed invisibile.

Dalla centralità dell’uomo nel progetto di spazio aperto pubblico e dal desiderio di superamento del dramma della solitudine che investe l’uomo contemporaneo, gli studenti del Corso accademico di Storia e Progetto del giardino contemporaneo da anni indagano le possibilità di sviluppo di nuovi progetti urbani per Milano affrontando il tema delle complessità dei rapporti tra i giovani e il movimento, la danza, lo sport, la musica e le arti al fine di proporre interventi site specific, ecosostenibili, innovativi e tecnologici.

Durante la serata,  attraverso una selezione di Videoprogetti  sviluppati dagli studenti  nello scorso anno accademico, si narrerà di relazioni tra uomo e natura, di cultura del progetto e paesaggio antropico, di trame verdi nel tessuto  storico milanese, di microspazi urbani pubblici e possibili trasformazioni, di Natura non  solo come paesaggio fisico e componenti naturali. An interdisciplinary charrette at the IwB, George Brown College.

This annual event brings together about 200 students and faculty from schools in Canada and around the world. Teams made up of students, faculty and external advisors will conduct research and propose solutions for responsive building typologies. The teams will present their projects to a panel of faculty, industry and government representatives. Results will be featured in a final publication at the IwB.

The charrette challenge will be to create design solutions for responsive

buildings that will be durable, affordable, flexible, efficient, intelligent and sustainable.

The Responsive Buildings Charrette will look at four different typological conditions in Toronto: Neighbourhoods, Transit Nodes, Preservation Districts, and Industrial District. The goal is to explore how these typologies can be re-imagined to create new mixed use environments that are replicate across the region. The four typologies will be looked at to imagine their evolutionary potential. Specifically, teams will considering how they address the needs of urban residents in 2015 and 20 years later in 2035

Over a few short days of brainstorming, discussion and expert consultation, teams create a broad range of ideas around a central theme.

The interdisciplinary teams of students worked together for 5 days to develop a proposal for an interactive digital/physical solution that facilitated a more sustainable and engaging way of ‘living in’ and ‘interacting with’ the locality. Each team was advised by professional experts in digital technology, urban issues, society and sustainable living.

Progetti di Waterfront

Terzo workshop internazionale di progettazione organizzato dal Politecnico di Milano, Scuola di Architettura Civile e Scuola di Design, e da Megatrend University di Belgrado con l’intento di ricercare soluzioni innovative e proposte progettuali che siano risposte per la collettività, nella vita quotidiana dei belgradesi, nel rapporto ricreativo con il fiume Danubio. Il workshop tende a unire gli elementi di progettazione architettonici e umani, in modo tale da offrire una risposta completa ad alcune problematiche  ambientali e  di sviluppo di potenzialità naturali di Belgrado. Le attività sull‘acqua rigenerano l‘anima e il corpo e sviluppano la coscienza sull‘importanza del tempo libero individuale e comunitario passato sui lungofiumi. La necessità di riprogettare in chiave contemporanea i waterfront è ormai un fenomeno globale.

ECOWEEK. From 13 - 19 May 2013, approximately 300 young architects, architectural technologists, engineers, landscape architects, industrial designers, energy technologists, etc. from around the world, will come to Copenhagen to work with some of the big climate, energy and environmental challenges that cities like Copenhagen are facing.

The theme for Ecoweek Copenhagen is ‘New Nordic Living’. The New Nordic theme – found and celebrated in very different areas of work and life, such as gastronomy, architecture, design, etc. – is highly inspired by the principle of proximity which encourages us to source only local materials to create practical solutions.

During Ecoweek - New Nordic Living, the students participating in the workshops will be encouraged to create sustainable solutions, using primarily local materials and resources, for genuine problem cases facing the city. Moreover, they will be encouraged to work in cooperation with the residents living in the areas where the cases are found.

Ecoweek - New Nordic Living has developed a partnership with the municipality of Copenhagen who has agreed to make part of the city available as a test ground for these solutions. From 2012 until 2016, the North West of Copenhagen – more specifically an area called “Bispebjerg” –will be getting a makeover. The municipality of Copenhagen will provide approximately 30 cases for Ecoweek’s participants to delve into and hopefully produce qualified solutions that the city can work with once Ecoweek - New Nordic Living is over.

URBAN SUSTAINABILITY , LANDSCAPE DESIGN, URBAN GARDENING, AGRICULTURE, CLIMATE ADAPTION, INFRASTRUCTURE, TRAFFIC .

With over 50% of the world’s population living in cities and the percentage set to increase over the next few decades it is important for a more sustainable approach to urban planning to be implemented in cities. Under this heading you will be asked to consider many different aspects of urban life that need to function together with a special focus on public space in the city and it’s adaption towards more social and environmental sustainability.

W 1.8 // TEMPORARY PROJECTS OF GLENTEHAVEN

The goal in this workshop is to create innovative concepts on how the empty plot, a triangular space on the corner of Glentevej and Nordre Fasanvej, can be made into an attractive recreational area for the local users and residents. Participants must take into consideration the surrounding areas and the end result should be a well thought out sustainable design which is easy to maintain.

W 2.2 // NEW PARK IN EMALJEHAVEN

The goal is to create an overall design for the park in Emaljehaven with a focus on low budget, low maintenance level and community involvement. Participants must come up with suggestions on how to involve the residents in creating more exciting spaces which stimulate more social interaction among residents and other users and thereby strengthen the community feeling and ownership.
